[Singapore Food Trends] Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen: Worth the Hype?
Updated: Jun 21
The Suan La Fen Trend has definitely caught the attention of everyone in Singapore. Hence, we too have proudly jumped onto the Suan La Fen (Sour and Spicy Sweet Potato Instant Noodles) bandwagon! If you’re a fan of sour and spicy food, you’d love it! This fiery dish includes vermicelli noodles, packet seasoning, vinegar sauce, chilli oil, peanuts and dehydrated vegetables. It takes 6 minutes for the cup of noodles to be cooked to perfection with only hot water. Convenient, isn’t it?!
The Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen got viral among fellow Singaporeans during the circuit breaker period and was flooded across several e-commerce sites such as Shopee, Ezbuy, Hai Chi Jia Official TaoBao Store and OF COURSE, Instagram.
Our team has tried it and here is our verdict!
Price: Burns your tongue and may burn your wallet too as it is on the pricer spectrum of the instant noodles clan. We rate it a 3/5!
Packaging: The quality is rather substantial so you wouldn’t need to worry about the cup turning soggy. Plus, there is a mini foldable fork which will be useful if you are always eating on-the-go or in the office. We rate it a 5/5!
Taste: Noodles are tangy, portions are huge. Definitely a 5/5! It is our go-to for midnight Mala cravings during this stay-home period.
As food connoisseurs, our Creative Team at Tristeps Studios recently took a unique cinemagraph (a magical hybrid of photography and video. They contain subtle motion that plays in a short, never-ending loop, while the rest of the image remains still) of the legendary Hai Chi Jia Suan Le Fen just because it passed our vibe check. We have to dedicate a post for this!
